I’ve mention about BACKLINK in my previous entry and I’m sure most of you still have not idea what is it and how it influences your PAGERANK.
BACKLINK is defines as; a link which points to your blog (or website) from another sources (Be it blogs or websites). For an example, page A is linked and listed in page B (this act will cast a vote to Page A of which this vote will be used by google to determine the PAGERANK of the page).
A number of good qualities BACKLINK will determine the importance of your web on the internet and determine your blog’s PAGERANK. Backlink is usually used by some of the Search Engines to indicate the importance of your blog to users.
Backlink explained
To simplify how this thing works, I will use this analogy:
“Three websites (Refer to the above figure) found out that the article entitled “How SEO works” which was published in my website, to be interesting. The owners of these websites want the article to be displayed in their website for their own reference or for their readers; hence they link my article to their website. In this case, their website will act as a backlink to my article.”
Other terms for Backlink that often used by bloggers are incoming inbound links, inlinks and also inward links.
HOW IMPORTANT IS IT?
Backlink is important for bloggers to:
1. Increase their blog’s PAGERANK
:: The more website linked your blog, the more chances your blog will get higher Pagerank.
2. Popularise blog especially through search engine
:: As been discussed in my previous entry, chances of your page to appear on top list of google search result are high, if your blog has the higher PR.
3. Increase traffic to their blog
:: Traffic to your blog will increase when more website provides link to your blog.
HOW TO INCREASE YOUR BACKLINKS?

:: The best way to build quality backlink is by guest posting from other related blog having the same or relevant as your blog.
:: Forum signature also is a good way to create backlinks.

:: Link each of your new entry to quality blog but make sure it’s related and relevant to your entry.
Stargone Says:
:: Leaving a comment in DOFOLLOW blog.
Another ways to increase your backlink is by:
:: Exchange links with other bloggers (more preferably blog with higher PR).
:: Submit your link to social bookmark (e.g Blinklist [PR7]).
:: Article Submission.
:: Build a template, make it available to everyone for free (But ensure that it will link back to you).
YOU SHOULD KNOW
One way in-bound links from website that has similar topics to our blog, will help us to get higher page rank.
Other-way inbound links from high ranked pages with unrelated topics will also help our rank, but not as much as the first point.

about submitting articles to ezines. Do you mean a fresh/new article or our existing articles ? …
It can be anything as long as you provide your link in your articles which direct them to your blog. This can also be used as tool to direct traffic to your blog. But ensure that your articles are interesting enough. I’ve tried this method before in other web.
How to get One way in-bound links ?
There are lot of ways can be practised to get 1 way in-bound link. Some of them are:
1. Pack your site with rich contents. If webmasters think that your content might give benefit to their reader, they will naturally link to your site.
2. Publish articles to site such as ezine,etc and do not forget to add your link in your content.
3. Submit your site to free directories.
4. Testimonial can also be used to get backlinks. Offer to provide testimonials for products that you have purchased but ensure that you provide your testimonial with your link.
