“Can you please explain a bit about Pagerank”
I Received an sms from a good friend of mine asking me to give him an introductory about PR. I admit that I’m majoring in computing but it doesnt mean that I know everything about IT. I myself have just learnt this weird thing.
Well, I need to emphasize that that this is just a sharing from me. If you have ideas that might contribute to this article, do not hesitate to leave your comment.
I’m sure most of bloggers have heard of this thing before. According to wikipedia.org, Google Page Rank or simply known as PR is a numerical value that represent how important a page on the web. It literally means a “measurement” used by google to determine the relevance and popularity of our page in the internet. It is determined by the total of BACKLINKS linked to our blog or website.
Pagerank Explained
PR is labeled according to 1 to 10 scales of which the highest rank would be 10. This is a factor that determines the position of your page in search result ranking. In simple word, the higher rank page you have, the more chances your page will appear on top list of google search result. Sure it will be interesting to see your page listed on top of the lists.
This is good news for bloggers; higher PR page will get more traffic than lower ranked pages. The higher pagerank your blog represent, the more traffic your blog will get. The more traffic you will get, the more popular your blog will become. Bloggers have the tendency to leave comments in high ranked and popular blog to get BACKLINKS for their blog (Important for those who want to monetize their blog).
To simplify this thing, I will use this simple analogy:
“Padin and Naomi study in the same school. Padin always involved in numerous competitions organized by his school and always beat other competitors. Due to this fact, he is recognized and always asked to represents his school in any interschool competitions. On the other hand, Naomi concentrates more on study and seldom participates in any competitions. However she always top in her class.
When the school is asked to send participants to any interschool or national competitions, surely Padin will be on top of the list and the first person to be approached by the board of school’s management due to his outstanding performance and his strong references. Naomi will be on the bottom list of potential participant to represent their school.”
However, it is important to understand that Google Page Rank is not a ranking for your domain, but it is just a ranking for your page. To check your PR Status, check this web: www.prchecker.info
HOW TO INCREASE YOUR PR?
There are few ways of doing so but the most usual ways are:
1. Regularly update your blog, especially your entry.
- It is important to update at lease an article for 2-3 days but recommended to update your blog everyday. Please avoid plagiarism as this act could cause content duplication and cause confusion to google.
2. Increase your backlink through commenting.
- Get quality backlink from website or blog (Preferably high ranked page) that related to your blog by leaving your comments with your URL address.

The best way to increase your Google Pagerank is by external links. But you can also build a solid interlink system around your site. It will extends the readers to other pages inside your site
I’ve heard about Interlink system before. But I guess I need to write another related entry before I can do that. Thanks by the way

The best way to build quality backlinks is by guest posting from other related blog having the same or relevant as your blog.
Forum signature also is a good way to create backlinks.
There are still numerous ways to create quality backlinks to your blog.
In fact I already got my PR 3 in my blog having a new domain.
