You might have read my previous post regarding SEO contest: Hidup seorang blogger which is currently organize by denaihati. I wish I could participate, but my blog does not have the qualification that allows me to be one of the participants. Even though I’m not one of the participants, but I guess there is need for me to write this entry. I would love to share story of my life as a blogger: HIDUP SEORANG BLOGGER with my readers out there. Before that, I just need to emphasize that this story is one of the chapter of my life and does not related to anyone.

I don’t think there is a proper way to define life of a blogger: HIDUP SEORANG BLOGGER as it is according to your own definition. Down to memory lane, I started to blog using friendsfer’s blogging platform as early as 2005. Blog during those days was more to personal electronic diary to me. A place where I could express all my feelings; when there is no shoulder to cry on, when there is no one to share my joy or my heart feelings. I believe you guys have experienced life as a student, there is time and things that you can share it with your closest friends and there is moment where you have to shoulder all you feelings by yourself. Thus, a blog was not more than a place for me to hide myself and express my feelings. I admit that I didn’t maximize usage of blog during that time. I write when I feel I need to, and that is my principal of blogging during those days. Now, you can imagine my early life as a blogger: HIDUP SEBAGAI SEORANG BLOGGER when you are expressing your feelings with blog.

I closed my ‘book’ and stopped blogging after I graduated from the university in 2008. Somehow, I felt that I missed something important; to be honest I didn’t know the potential of blogging during my early years with blogging world. It was not until early 2009 where one of my best friends actually told that shehas a blog. I guess bloggerand wordpressplatforms were popular during that time. After thoroughly read her entries, at last I knew what I missed all this while; the essence of blogging. More of her entries are about knowledge and sharing and that is what I’m going to do. Blogging should not just about your feeling but also about sharing to the others what you know or valuable thing that your readers should know. Again, I didn’t utilized the huge potential of blog until one day I actually chat with her and she told me that blogging can actually generate some income which can be used to support blogging activities such as yearly payment of domain and hosting, etc. She even introduced me to one of the top bloggers in Malaysia; Kennysia. Na.. we did not actually meet with kennysia in person or virtually (But if he could come down and sign my ‘guestbook’ that could be a bonus to me). But I guess his blog is just enough for us to understand more about blogging world. What to do, we are just small blogger, just started to crawl like 2 year old baby.

Once again, I position my blog into personal sharing, knowledge and income. Speaking about income, there is various ways where you can actually ‘generate’ it. Affiliate and advertising are most common to us people, but I guess, by participating contests could also bring some income to you. There are lots of bloggers out there who are running contests and why shouldn’t we take this opportunity? (and I know few bloggers that have made income through contest) At least I’ve tried few contest organized by denaihati(I knew this blog from my friend’s blog. She was one of the participants in one of denaihati’s contest before) and won few contest organized by him (You can head to his blog to see what I have won until today). You can find me pondering around denaihatimore often as I’m learning from that site. Through him I learnt so many great things and know things that I never know before. For instance SEO terminologies; Pageranks, Backlinksand etc. And through him I found yet another essence of blogging which I guess we all should practice it. Live to give: HIDUP UNTUK MEMBERI is his motto and it has been proven with various charity activities that he has involved in. Again, I try to adjust my blog… I love the idea of Live to give: HIDUP UNTUK MEMBERI. But need to be emphasized here, it doesn’t mean to give is in form of monetary.. There are lots of things that you can give. As for me, I give ‘knowledge’ to other; I help other with their blog without asking for return. Still consider we are ‘giving’ something to the others right?

I learnt so many things by blogging. I give knowledge to the other and at the same time I get knowledge from somebody else. How wonderful it is a life as a blogger: HIDUP SEORANG BLOGGER. Through blog, I found so many incredible people, I met with lot of friends (both local and international friends) even though we don’t actually meet in person but still I’m hoping that I will have the chance to meet them in the future. If this is what blog could offer, I will never give up my life as a blogger: HIDUP SEORANG BLOGGER for something else.
