As part of the Bangkok-based Lubd brand, this hostel boasts six locations across three countries, including the Philippines. Notably, it holds the title of the largest hostel in the Philippines and has been recognized as the Best Social Hotel in Southeast Asia.
Location
Lubd Makati is located in Poblacion, Makati, and is close to fast food restaurants, malls (Century Mall and A Venue Mall), hypermarkets, ATMs, and other amenities.
Facilities
Room Facilities (Varies depending on your room – So this review is based on their Junior Room Private)
Free Wifi, Room with Electronic Key Card, Universal Sockets with USB Charging, Smart TV, Safe Box, Mini Refrigerator, coffee and tea maker and of course air-conditioner.
Hotel Facilities
Despite the lack of a bathtub or a swimming pool, they do have excellent facilities such as a rooftop restaurant (13th floor), deli bar (lobby), co-working space with game area, skype room, entertainment room, and even a meeting room.
Staff
Staff were extremely friendly (well, Filipinos are known for their warmth and hospitality) and were able to meet our needs (Check-in a bit late that day).
Service
Always attentive and smiling. There was one instance when we couldn’t turn on the water heater, so we called the front office, and within a split second, the engineering team arrived and fixed the problem.
Restaurant
The Lubd hostel’s restaurant is on the 13th floor.
My verdict
The hostel is conveniently located near several landmarks, including malls, supermarkets, bars, food centres, ATMs, pharmacies, and even a church. I love the setting and the size of the room; it’s even better than some of the other hotels in Makati. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and they always smiled at you.
Unfortunately, we had no breakfast option because we knew there was a 24-hour All-day Pinoy Breakfast just a few steps away from the hotel – Kanto Style Breakfast.
Oh by the way, you do not have to worry about Universal Travel Adaptor since their plug (inside the room) is equipped with universal socket + USB Charging! A big plus for the hotel
