After waiting for a few days, and due to the high demand for Wegovy in the Kota Kinabalu area, I finally received mine from one of the partner pharmacies. Honestly, I was quite excited when I finally got the confirmation that my Wegovy was ready. After spending some time researching and thinking about whether I should start this journey, having the pen in my hands made everything feel a little more real.

At the same time, I was also a little nervous about having to inject myself.
I was hesitant to jab myself because I had seen some videos on TikTok where people accidentally injected all the medication out of the pen during priming. Priming is important because it helps remove air from the needle before doing the actual injection. Since I had never done this myself before, I was worried that I might do something wrong and waste the medication.
During my previous injection at the clinic, everything was done by the nurses. They prepared the pen, did the priming, and administered the injection for me. This time, however, I had to do everything myself from preparing the pen and priming it to finally giving myself the jab.

So, before doing anything, I decided to consult HelloDoktor through WhatsApp. They sent me a few easy-to-follow instructional videos showing me how to prepare and use the pen properly. This really helped to make the whole process much easier and less intimidating. After watching the videos a few times, I felt much more confident about doing my first self-injection.
You might think that injecting yourself is painful, but trust me, it really isn’t. You only feel a tiny prick when the needle goes in. Honestly, even an ant bite is more painful! The needle is so tiny that the injection was much easier than I expected.
After getting my pen, I went straight home and prepared myself for my very first self-injection. I finally did my first jab at around 8:00 PM.
Most of the comments I’ve read online said that it doesn’t really matter whether you inject Wegovy in the morning, afternoon, or at night, as long as you follow the prescribed schedule. However, many people seem to prefer doing it at night because they can simply go to sleep afterwards and, hopefully, avoid having to deal with any potential side effects during the day.
For me, the first night was actually quite okay, nothing happened and I didn’t really feel any significant side effects on my “official” first day of using Wegovy.

So, that was basically my first day, the day I finally learned how to inject Wegovy myself and officially started my Wegovy journey.
Stay tuned for Day 2 on Wegovy.
